Excel Driver Services’ Conducting Backing Maneuvers course equips CDL instructors with the techniques, evaluation methods, and training strategies needed to teach safe and effective backing skills. With backing accidents being among the most common in commercial driving, proper training is essential for reducing risk and improving driver proficiency. This course covers coaching strategies, vehicle positioning assessment, and real-time feedback techniques, ensuring instructors can effectively train students in straight-line backing, offset backing, parallel parking, and alley docking. Through classroom instruction, controlled practice, and hands-on training, participants will develop the skills to evaluate drivers and implement corrective coaching strategies that enhance maneuvering accuracy and safety.

Requirements for this Program

1. Must have a valid Class A or B CDL
2. Minimum 3 years of professional driving or training experience
3. Strong communication and coaching skills
4. Ability to pass a background check and drug test
